Children are born natural yogis in the sense that they are extremely flexible. However by the age of three children start to lose flexibility through spending too long doing inert activities (watching TV, sitting at a desk, etc.). Yoga or any other form of active exercise is essential to the healthy growth of any child.
For this reason Yogi Rascals was founded by Ladan Sattaripour to provide a fun, safe environment where children can participate in various activities which will assist in their development. Classes are taught in small groups, giving each child a great deal of personal attention.
Imagination is one of the key factors for a successful yoga class. As using the imagination comes naturally to children, Yogi Rascals looks to maintain and develop this. Simple yoga poses are introduced through creative storytelling and music. Through play, we take the children on a journey where they can learn about animals, nature and the human body, all through working through the range of yoga poses. This not only develops the children’s flexibility but aids concentration.
